Loretta and Linda Sanchez and his girlfriend who went missing after their 26-foot boat was apparently destroyed, possibly in a collision with a barge outside the Port of Los Angeles.
Henry Sanchez, 51, and Penny Avila, 48, of Santa Ana left the Long Beach harbor around midnight Wednesday to Santa Catalina Island but never arrived. The next morning, a debris field found about five miles south of the Los Angeles harbor entrance contained fragments from their Bayliner pleasure boat.
