MEXICO CITY, Oct 6 (Reuters) - A tropical depression formed on Monday in the southern Gulf of Mexico in the vicinity of Mexico's main oil production facilities, the U.S. National Hurricane Center said.
The depression is expected to reach tropical storm strength and make landfall within 24 hours, the NHC said.

The depression prompted the government of Mexico to issue a tropical storm warning for part of the Mexican coastline.
At 10 a.m. EDT, the center of Tropical Depression 13 was located near latitude 19.0 north, longitude 94.1 west, or about 140 miles east of Veracruz, Mexico.
