TORRENTIAL downpours lashed Burma's Irrawaddy delta yesterday, deepening the misery of an estimated 2.5 million destitute survivors of cyclone Nargis and further disrupting communications and relief efforts.

HOMELESS survivors of the Burma cyclone are reportedly being used as forced labour in government camps.
